POST-VIRAL SYNDROMES: ??? Pompe Disease, Multiple Sclerosis, polyneuritis, polymyalgia ....

Late one night about a year ago, I was watching a Discovery Health Channel report on a child with a very similar picture of the Asian child and the elderly lady I have mentioned above. This show caught my attention. I said to myself I wonder if this child in the Discovery Health Channel show had flu or colds at the beginning of the picture of the disease, and right after I questioned myself, the narrator said that the only thing this child had at the beginning were flu symptoms which got gradually worse. The parents took the child everywhere searching for the cure. Finally, they ended up at the Mayo Clinic and after a lot of testing they concluded that this disease has a name but no cure . They called it POMPE DISEASE.
OTHER TOPICS:
TORTICOLLIS (CONGENITAL) Experts are not certain as to the cause of this kind of Torticollis, some say that babies are born with neck problems due to mal-position in uterus (fetus in the wrong position while in the womb) and others say this condition may be related to injury of the neck and stretching of the muscles of the baby's neck at birth.
The baby's neck is twisted and head is deviated or tipped to one side while the chin is turned to the other side, there is often muscle swelling, shortening of the neck and neurological symptoms due to compression of the nerve roots. Alternative treatments (needle-less acupuncture) combined with manual therapy has been very successful in our facility, curing this condition in about 4 to 5 visits in babies suffering from mild to moderate TORTICOLLIS.

The high-school student with scoliosis who could no longer tolerate her pain

Jennifer was a high school student who came to me with the diagnosis of Scoliosis and with severe pain in the neck and mid and lower back. Her insurance company gave her two visits of physical therapy. Her father got new insurance that would cover her treatments. The two years of treatments consisted of acupuncture and physical therapy. She started acupuncture about two or three months after beginning physical therapy. I balanced her energies in the body which helped to correct her scoliosis. When she first came to our facility her scoliosis was at a 26 degree angle; she went to several doctors, who told her that the only solution to her problem was surgery. Since my own child had scoliosis I refused to live with the thought that he might have to have surgery of the spine so I did great research and I tried different techniques to correct this scoliosis. I found the solutions as to what acupuncture points worked best to correct the scoliosis. I was very pleased to correct my child’s scoliosis and that is why I was able to help this wonderful young lady. She was 100% compliant with my treatment and very consistent attending her visits, at the beginning I saw her three times per week. Later I saw her two times per week and after a while I saw her only once every two weeks for approximately a year +. Her pain was greatly improved at the beginning of the treatments (within the first 2 months ). She was able to go to her prom in a beautiful dress. She feels 100% better and came to give me a big hug and to tell me that she would miss me when she was at college!

This is the letter written by this young patient who was extremely grateful with the results of her treatment for scoliosis:

  1. Jennifer is my daughter. Early on her doctor said he was keeping an eye on her spine for scoliosis. In her early teens she was very involved in gymnastics. As her teen years advanced, she became less able to exercise as she once had. Eventually, her scoliosis kept her in constant pain. She had trouble sleeping, and even lying down in most positions. She was very limited in what she could lift and carry, including school books, and in performing typical household chores.

I took her to a back specialist. He took an X-Ray that measured a 26-degree curvature in her spine. He suggested surgery, either now or when the scoliosis got worse. Also suggested was the wearing of a back brace to bed at night.

Then we started seeing Amy for physical therapy. Right away Amy gave her the proper exercises, and Jennifer noticed the results right away. Within a short time she was able to sleep comfortably, and her range of movement without pain began to return.

Then Amy suggested acupuncture. She said her own daughter had had scoliosis and she was able to correct it with a combination of acupuncture and physical therapy. We felt it was worth trying. Jennifer had a total of 2 acupuncture treatments. She said she felt the energy being released. Jennifer felt it was the combination of the acupuncture and physical therapy that allowed her to make a full recovery.

Now Jennifer walks tall and is doing well in her freshman year of college. She has no physical limitations at all. I am very thankful that we somehow found Amy, and for all that she was able to do for my daughter. I am happy to write this blog in support of Amy and her work. If you or your child has scoliosis I recommend you come to Amy. If you are a Doctor, I suggest you refer patients with this problem to Amy, and hopefully they can avoid surgery and/or back braces as well.
