POST-VIRAL SYNDROMES: ??? Pompe Disease, Multiple Sclerosis, polyneuritis, polymyalgia ....

Late one night about a year ago, I was watching a Discovery Health Channel report on a child with a very similar picture of the Asian child and the elderly lady I have mentioned above. This show caught my attention. I said to myself I wonder if this child in the Discovery Health Channel show had flu or colds at the beginning of the picture of the disease, and right after I questioned myself, the narrator said that the only thing this child had at the beginning were flu symptoms which got gradually worse. The parents took the child everywhere searching for the cure. Finally, they ended up at the Mayo Clinic and after a lot of testing they concluded that this disease has a name but no cure . They called it POMPE DISEASE.
OTHER TOPICS:
TORTICOLLIS (CONGENITAL) Experts are not certain as to the cause of this kind of Torticollis, some say that babies are born with neck problems due to mal-position in uterus (fetus in the wrong position while in the womb) and others say this condition may be related to injury of the neck and stretching of the muscles of the baby's neck at birth.
The baby's neck is twisted and head is deviated or tipped to one side while the chin is turned to the other side, there is often muscle swelling, shortening of the neck and neurological symptoms due to compression of the nerve roots. Alternative treatments (needle-less acupuncture) combined with manual therapy has been very successful in our facility, curing this condition in about 4 to 5 visits in babies suffering from mild to moderate TORTICOLLIS.

The painful injured foot and ankle of old injury of an ex -football player that led to chronic back pain

Other success stories relate to ankle sprains and chronic pain in the foot. I received a referral from a local orthopedic doctor to treat a patient with chronic back pain. During the initial evaluation, I noticed that the patient was limping on his right leg. I asked the patient what had happened to his foot; he said that when he was in college, he suffered a bad injury while playing football, and his foot had never been the same. He had a severe soft-tissue injury at the time that never fully healed. After I treated his back, he said that he felt better in the back -- yet he was still limping. I said that the reason why he had a chronic back problem was that his body and spine always shifted to the right when he walked, so if we didn’t fix the right foot and ankle, the chronic back problem would never be solved. He looked at me and said: “What do you mean? I’ve had this problem for so long, and it can’t be fixed.” I suggested acupuncture; he was reluctant, since it was new to him. Still, he was willing to try anything to help his chronic back pain. After 8 sessions the ankle and foot improved; the patient was no longer limping and his lower back pain was completely resolved. Without the treatment of his limp I knew that he would return to me in a few months with the same back problem.
