POST-VIRAL SYNDROMES: ??? Pompe Disease, Multiple Sclerosis, polyneuritis, polymyalgia ....

Late one night about a year ago, I was watching a Discovery Health Channel report on a child with a very similar picture of the Asian child and the elderly lady I have mentioned above. This show caught my attention. I said to myself I wonder if this child in the Discovery Health Channel show had flu or colds at the beginning of the picture of the disease, and right after I questioned myself, the narrator said that the only thing this child had at the beginning were flu symptoms which got gradually worse. The parents took the child everywhere searching for the cure. Finally, they ended up at the Mayo Clinic and after a lot of testing they concluded that this disease has a name but no cure . They called it POMPE DISEASE.
OTHER TOPICS:
TORTICOLLIS (CONGENITAL) Experts are not certain as to the cause of this kind of Torticollis, some say that babies are born with neck problems due to mal-position in uterus (fetus in the wrong position while in the womb) and others say this condition may be related to injury of the neck and stretching of the muscles of the baby's neck at birth.
The baby's neck is twisted and head is deviated or tipped to one side while the chin is turned to the other side, there is often muscle swelling, shortening of the neck and neurological symptoms due to compression of the nerve roots. Alternative treatments (needle-less acupuncture) combined with manual therapy has been very successful in our facility, curing this condition in about 4 to 5 visits in babies suffering from mild to moderate TORTICOLLIS.

The young child with excruciating pain in the thighs especially at night

Approximately three years ago, something very dramatic happened while I was treating one of my patients. My patient was a seven-year-old Asian girl. She was diagnosed with polyneuropathy and polyneuritis -- severe pain and weakness in the legs. The mother of the child reported that they went to several doctors but could find no answer. She was referred to my clinic for physical therapy with the hope of alleviating the pain. The mother said the child could not sleep at night because the pain was so excruciating. Since all of the doctors had no idea of what was causing the pain, I suggested to the mother that we try acupuncture. In my experience, finding the root problem of the disease is the best way to achieve wellness, so I questioned the mother about the beginning of her child’s illness. The child had had the flu, followed by pain in the legs. Instead of just treating the pain, I started to treat the underlying problem, in this case, related to the lungs, which in my opinion were compromised due to the flu and the related post-viral syndrome. To my surprise, and to everybody’s amazement, the child’s pain started to go away after the very first acupuncture treatment. She was able to sleep without pain for the first time in a year, and the pain subsided -- 100% gone.

I told the child that I would not repeat the acupuncture treatment next time unless she asked for it. The next Wednesday, I saw this child sitting next to her mother with a smile on her face; with a loud voice, the child said: “Please do it again!!” I asked what had happened, and the mother informed me that the night after the acupuncture treatment, her daughter had slept very well and did not scream that night -- apparently the child had been screaming and moaning every night because of the pain in her legs. I repeated the acupuncture treatment about four more times, and the pain and weakness disappeared. I discharged her shortly after.

  1. This treatment needs to be studied NOW to see if it can help children with this dreaded disease. I am a patient at CIR and my name is Diana Quinn. I didn't know which profile to choose so I clicked on Anonymous.

  2. I injured my back twice in the time period from 2005-2007. The first lower back injury occurred because of misguided exercises that an orthopedic surgeon had given me to treat a sore shoulder (rotator cuff injury). After my back became injured to go along with my shoulder injury, I tried going to a chiropractor for treatments and received very limited improvement. The new lower back injury had set off a chain reaction in which my left leg was in severe pain and I could not walk properly. I had severe pain, and my right shoulder had restricted mobility.

At that time, I was referred to Amy Gonzalez by a close friend. Amy treated both conditions and brought me to 100% normalcy. With Amy's combined professional skills as a licensed acupuncturist and certified physical therapist, she diagnosed my left leg problem as a "dropped foot." When I walked, my left foot flopped forward instead of rolling forward from heal to toe. A dropped foot is often a lifetime condition, sometimes treated by surgery, but with no guarantee of success.

You can imagine how depressing these conditions were to me. At age 65, for the first time in my life I was faced with debilitating injuries and prolonged, severe pain. So, you can imagine how grateful I am to Amy for having successfully treated me. My dropped foot is cured, my lower back is now normal, and my shoulder is normal. I feel 100% certain that the chiropractor could not have given this healing, and certainly the orthopedic surgeon whose misguidance caused my back injury and dropped foot was not a person I would go to for treatment.

My second back injury occurred a few months after the complete healing of my first injury as I tried to help move my elderly polio stricken brother-in-law from one chair to another. I was away for the Christmas holiday in western New York State. The back pain hit me just before bedtime, and was so severe that I could not move without excruciating agony. I wished I could die. The local paramedics were called. They strapped me onto a gurney and took me to the hospital were I was given some pain pills.

We called up Amy long distance, and she advised that my wife drive us home and that I sit in the car with a pillow or folded towels behind my lower back. Arriving in New Jersey, we went right to Amy. She immediately started with the acupuncture and physical therapy treatments and over the next several weeks Amy got me back to 100% normal again.

Amy is as good as a health practitioner can get. For me, she is the best, and any time I should ever again have any injury or serious medical condition, Amy is the first person I would go to for treatment. I regard Amy as a dedicated professional who deeply cares for her patients. She has a personal mission to stop pain and suffering. But, most impressive and compelling is her knowledge. Being an acupuncturist and physical therapist are only titles. Some professionals are good, and others not so good. Amy is the best. I believe she is so good because of her dedication, and also because of her knowledge. Amy's patients receive the benefits of her vast knowledge, her years of experience, her extremely keen intelligence, and her compassion.

Everyday, literally, when I realize how easily and pain free I move around, when walking, rising from a chair, and all other movements, I remember Amy, and I am so ever thankful to her for restoring me to 100% normal mobility. She has likewise treated and brought healing to dozens upon dozens, yes, many hundreds, of others. My friend, who recommended Amy to me, and I often refer to Amy as our angel of mercy. Keep on Amy!!! Do God's work of healing and caring.

  4. I have gone for acupuncture and other therapies for a variety of medical conditions (including knee, shoulder and back problems) for over 10 years. These conditions have had a dramatic impact on my personal and professional life.

Through 10 years plus of suffering, I had received very little relief after seeking treatment from a variety of doctors and alternative therapists, including:
Physiatrists/Physical therapists– ultrasound/stim/kinesio taping, Chiropractors-Graston Technique, medical massage, myofascial release, craniosacral, neuromuscular therapy, Thai-msg, Rolfing, cupping/guasha/moxibustion, acupressure, tuina, Jin Shin Jyutsu, Reiki, active release technique and a variety of acupuncture styles from dozens of acupuncturists in NJ, NY and even outside the US. I was at a point where I had given up on finding someone who would be able to listen to me and properly treat my chronic injuries.

Then I found Amy. After receiving 1 treatment from Amy Gonzalez, I knew she definitely is a gifted and experienced therapist and healer. I had seen almost 200 other practitioners over the years and never received the results I had after just 1 treatment with Amy.
Finally after all these years, I am getting the treatment and healing that I need.

I am very fortunate to have found Amy and I am offering this account on her blog in the hope that others who are suffering in needless pain will come across her website and give her a chance to help them heal. Even if you aren’t from the North NJ area, based on my experience I believe it will be worth the trip to see Amy.
