POST-VIRAL SYNDROMES: ??? Pompe Disease, Multiple Sclerosis, polyneuritis, polymyalgia ....

Late one night about a year ago, I was watching a Discovery Health Channel report on a child with a very similar picture of the Asian child and the elderly lady I have mentioned above. This show caught my attention. I said to myself I wonder if this child in the Discovery Health Channel show had flu or colds at the beginning of the picture of the disease, and right after I questioned myself, the narrator said that the only thing this child had at the beginning were flu symptoms which got gradually worse. The parents took the child everywhere searching for the cure. Finally, they ended up at the Mayo Clinic and after a lot of testing they concluded that this disease has a name but no cure . They called it POMPE DISEASE.

TORTICOLLIS (CONGENITAL) Experts are not certain as to the cause of this kind of Torticollis, some say that babies are born with neck problems due to mal-position in uterus (fetus in the wrong position while in the womb) and others say this condition may be related to injury of the neck and stretching of the muscles of the baby's neck at birth.
The baby's neck is twisted and head is deviated or tipped to one side while the chin is turned to the other side, there is often muscle swelling, shortening of the neck and neurological symptoms due to compression of the nerve roots. Alternative treatments (needle-less acupuncture) combined with manual therapy has been very successful in our facility, curing this condition in about 4 to 5 visits in babies suffering from mild to moderate TORTICOLLIS.

TORTICOLLIS (CONGENITAL)

Congenital Torticollis (twisted neck) also known as wryneck.
Experts are not exactly sure as to the real cause of this condition, some say it is due to injury or wrong position of the baby while in the womb or during birth if the neck muscles are stretched or injured. It is usually noted in the first weeks after birth, the baby keeps the head tilted  to one side while the chin is turned to the other side. The treatment is necessary in order to prevent the baby's skull from growing unevenly, as well as to prevent facial and neck deformities.
At our facility, we have treated several cases of Congenital Torticollis (ranging from mild to moderate) with excellent results within 4 to 5 visits.  The treatments consists of Alternative therapy (needle-less acupuncture) and Manual Therapy which results in significant improvement only after the first visit.

  1. This is true!! I brought my 5 month old son to the Center for Integrative Rehabilitation. He had limited neck movement, held his head to one side, and was beginning to develop an asymmetrical head shape. We worked with an experienced physical therapist who used needle less acupuncture along with massage and stretching techniques. The therapy was non-invasive and did not cause any discomfort to the baby whatsoever. The physical therapist also provided me with exercises in which I could work on at home with the baby. We saw immediate and measurable results! We continued the therapy for 5 sessions. My son is doing well and has gained complete mobility of his head and neck. We are so pleased! Thank you!

  2. When my daughter was born she didn't use her left arm very much and could not turn her head easily to the left. Her condition was called both mild Erb's Palsy and Torticollis. I'm not sure exactly what it was or why it happened to her but Amy at CIR taught me exercises to do with her and began giving her acupressure treatments (no needles) when she was 8 days old. After three treatments, she now uses her left arm and can turn her head normally. I am thrilled that we caught this early and am grateful that Amy knows how to treat this so effectively.

Muchas gracias !

  4. My last comment got cut off so I had to make a new one. I have been suffering with uneven legs for many years now and had to resort to shifting all my weight on my one leg. After many years of applying all my weight on that one leg made me feel very comfortable and had pain. when I arrived to Amy's I didn't have much hope on her being able to help me but with one treatment Amy fixed my leg and I was walking much better and the pain disappeared. I've been coming to her ever since , if you have anything similar to my issue , visit Amy she is amazing !
